Thoughts from the annual AAF Columbus meeting

By Hailey Stangebye

At Warhol & WALL ST., we know how important it is to connect with other talented, passionate people in our field — whether that’s across the nation, across the state or across the street. When we collaborate and learn from one another, we can reimagine possibilities in the worlds of marketing, branding and advertising.

As such, we were thrilled to attend the 2019 AAF Columbus Silver Medal Luncheon at the Scioto Country Club! It was a great opportunity to reconnect with old friends and make some new contacts. Plus, we always love to support our COO, Chris Jones, in his role as the Public Service Chair for AAF Columbus.

This year’s luncheon was particularly impactful because it was an opportunity to honor two ground-breaking marketers with the prestigious Silver Medal: Bob Wiseman and the late Vickie Easterday.

Unfortunately, Easterday passed away in 2017 after a 14-year battle with cancer, so we had to acknowledge her contributions posthumously. Wiseman, who worked by her side for almost 25 years, graciously accepted his award and shared a few fond memories from working with such a “remarkable strategist.”

Their friendship is a testament to the collaborative nature of Columbus. We often joke that partnership is “the Columbus way,” but it’s true. The beauty of Columbus is that we work together, rather than in opposition to one another. We understand that when our city grows and succeeds, then that’s a win for everyone who calls Columbus home.

Thank you to all of the phenomenal creatives and strategists who continue to reach new heights in Columbus. We’re proud to be among the agencies shaping the future of the city. Here’s to another great year with AAF Columbus!
